Penny Hardaway Is a GOAT Build in NBA 2K27 Season 2

NBA 2K27 Season 2 started on October 16, 2026, and it arrived with a new way to play as a legend. 2K calls them GOAT Builds: MyPLAYER templates inspired by great NBA players, designed to go past the attribute and physical caps of the standard MyPLAYER Builder. Penny Hardaway is one of them, listed by 2K at point guard.

Open to everyone from day one

According to 2K's official Season 2 Courtside Report, eight GOAT Builds became available the moment the Season started, through a new GOAT Builds path inside the builder. Penny is in that opening group. Several other legends sit behind Season reward levels, REP tiers or Lifetime Challenges, but the first eight do not, so there is no level to reach and no REP rank to earn before you can take Penny's build onto the court.

What you can and cannot change

2K says each GOAT Build keeps its signature animations locked so that it plays like the player it is modeled on. Badges, Cap Breakers and Takeovers stay fully customizable, so two people running Penny's build can still end up with different players.
