Nike Air Flight One “Black/White” Reportedly Returning in Fall 2027
The black and white Air Flight One that Penny wore with the Orlando Magic is reported to be coming back in Fall 2027. Here is what has been reported, and what has not.
The Nike Air Flight One is reportedly coming back. According to reports published on October 14 and 15, 2026, the shoe's original “Black/White” colorway is set to return in Fall 2027. The news traces to the sneaker leaker zSneakerHeadz, first through Sneaker Files and then Sneaker News. Sneaker News describes the return as confirmed, but we have not found an announcement from Nike itself, and no price or style code has been published.
Penny's connection to the shoe
The Air Flight One is part of Nike's Flight line. It is not one of Penny's signature shoes, which are the Air Penny line. The link is that Penny wore the Air Flight One on court with the Orlando Magic, which is why the shoe is so closely associated with him.
It also has a famous Michael Jordan chapter. In Game 3 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals, Jordan wore the black and white Air Flight One against Penny's Magic, a rare non-Jordan pair on his feet during his Bulls years. Orlando went on to win that series.
The shoe itself
The Air Flight One was designed by Eric Avar and first released in 1995. It was retroed in 2012. This colorway puts white details on a black upper, and the oval pods with circular cutouts, around the collar and on the forefoot of the midsole, make it easy to pick out of a 1990s lineup.
What is still unknown
